The act of
adorning, embellishing, or honoring; ornamentation.
That which adorns, enriches, or
beautifies; something added by way of embellishment;
ornament.
Specifically, any mark of honor to be worn

knighthood, bestowed for services in war, great achievements in
literature, art, etc.
